چکیده

Most commercially used piezoelectric materials suffer from certain drawbacks like low output, brittle nature, etc. Thus, they cannot be utilized to their fullest extent in dynamic applications involving actuators, transducers, Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices, and Love wave sensors, among others. The present work focuses on the transference attributes of anti-plane SH a layered structure composed fiber-reinforced composite (PFRC) layer lying over half-space. PFRC PZT-5A-epoxy is micro-mechanically modeled using Strength Materials Rule Mixtures, some its electro-mechanical advantages monolithic PZT-5A are discussed. dispersion relation obtained by analytical means, as well two numerical techniques, viz., Semi-Analytical Finite Element - Perfectly Matched Layer (SAFE-PML) technique Semi Analytical Infinite (SAIFE) with (1/r) type decay. Effect of Micropolarity on the Propagation of Shear Waves in a Piezoelectric Layered Structure

This paper studies the propagation of shear waves in a composite structure consisting of a piezoelectric layer perfectly bonded over a micropolar elastic half space. The general dispersion equations for the existence of shear waves are obtained analytically in the closed form. Some particular cases have been discussed and in one special case the relation obtained is in agreement with existing r...

Stable perfectly-matched-layer boundary conditions for finite-difference time-domain simulation of acoustic waves in piezoelectric crystals

Perfectly matched layer (PML) boundary conditions are derived for finite-difference timedomain analysis of acoustic waves within piezoelectric crystals. The robustness and effectiveness of the derived boundary conditions are demonstrated by simulating acoustic wave propagation in the bismuth germanate material system—a system in which simple absorbing boundary conditions cause instabilities. An...

Love waves in a piezoelectric layered structure

Consider a layer made of a m3m insulator crystal, with faces cut parallel to a symmetry plane. Then bond it onto a semi-infinite mm2 piezoelectric substrate. For a Xor Y -cut of the substrate, a Love wave can propagate in the resulting structure and the corresponding dispersion equation is derived analytically. It turns out that a fully explicit treatment can also be conducted in the case of a ...

Boundary waves and stability of the perfectly matched layer

We study the stability of the perfectly matched layer (PML) for symmetric second order hyperbolic partial differential equations on the upper half plane, with boundary conditions at y = 0. Using a mode analysis, we develop a technique to analyze the stability of the corresponding initial boundary value problem on the half plane. We apply our technique to the PML for the elastic wave equations s...
